A TIER

GWx Humans (Up) – As the Humans list continues to gain popularity, so too does it’s win-rate! More people are playing it in Diamond and beyond, and it now boasts an impressive 62% win-rate in Bo3!

Mardu Greasefang (Up) – You can’t keep the rat down for too long before he creeps back into the top-brackets again. This week, Mardu Greasefang is being played significantly more (the third most common deck in Diamond and above) and we believe this is because it doesn’t need to worry about the Karn decks as much as the similar lists in Pioneer – so people feel safe enough to give him another try in Explorer.

B TIER

UW Control (Up) – In typical fashion, as new post-ban meta stabilizes – so too do the control decks. UW at the forefront of this continues to gain popularity and success in Bo3 as it’s able to continue countering the meta above it.

C TIER

D Gruul Titan (Up) – Gruul Titan continues to be rise and rise in the format since it’s debut in Arena. It’s a strategy that is hard for some decks to deal with and remains one that needs be respected.

OFF-META

Izzet Phoenix (Down) – Unfortunately, Phoenix continues to fall without the support of Expressive Iteration and this week falls to Off-Meta in our Bo3 Explorer Tier List. Sadly, it didn’t even crack the top thirty-eight archetypes in our data this week and has become fringe playable – and not supported. Keep brewing, Kings and Queens, and restore this one dominant archetype back to its former glory!

  • Publisher

rose-emoji started playing Magic: The Gathering during Battle for Zendikar, then took a break from the game until Throne of Eldraine. Pioneer got him back into Magic full-force, and the launch of Arena on mobile hooked him in forever. Now that his favorite format is working its way onto Arena, he can be found grinding the format to death, mostly in Grixis colors, mono-colors or tribal decks.

  • Publicist

Tyrant has been playing Magic in events since his first prerelease in Ixalan. Most of the time, he can be found in the various Pioneer Discord channels talking about anything Pioneer, from various meta decks to whatever new combo deck he has brewed up. When not playing Magic, he is getting cards in his collection signed by their artists or producing the occasional video for his YouTube channel.
